First conpetition of the season M1 (17/10/2019)

This week at Camera Club, we will be hosting our first competition of the season. The set subject will be Abandoned/Derelict. There will also be an open and nature section.

This competition will be judged on the night by James Hardy from Chorley. We are looking forward to seeing some great images from existing members and potentially from some of our newer members too.

Remember to bring some pennies or prizes for our raffle, which will be drawn half way through the evening, during our coffee/tea break.

See you all on Thursday! 📸

M1 Competition Entry Deadline

We would just like to remind everyone that entries for our first monthly competition (M1) are due by Monday at the latest. The set subjects are derelict/abandoned, nature and open.

For competition rules please check our website. 📸

Tomorrow Night

Camera Club tomorrow night includes information on re-sizing images, rules for competitions and judge bait! Hope to see everyone there! 7:30pm at the Church of Ascension in Torrisholme

Start of the season

On Thursday, we had a successful opening night after having a great catch up with our members and it was lovely to see some new faces!

Our next meeting is on Thursday 10th October. We will be having a focus on getting ready for competitions. This will give our members an insight into what judges are looking for and sizing images using different editing software.

If you are interested in joining our club then don’t worry as we take on new members all year around. Come along to the Church of Ascension in Torrisholme on Thursdays at 7:30pm!

More information can be found at: http://morecambecameraclub.co.uk/

Astrophotography shoot

Unfortunately the planned astrophotography evening for this Thursday the 26th September will have to be cancelled as It currently looks like it will be raining Thursday with 80% cloud cover.
Looking forward to seeing everyone the following Thursday for the start of the season. Feel free to bring your camera and/or an image from your favourite photographer as we will be having informal group discussions around these if we get time 🙂 This will hopefully help everyone to find other members who use similar kit and have similar photographic interests.

New Season

With the start of our 2019/2020 season approaching, we would like to reach out to anybody who would be interested in joining a friendly photography club, which strives to support members when gaining photographic knowledge and skills.

Our members are a mixture of ages and abilities, and we try to arrange a balance of photographic opportunities and competitions to suit all. We are also very proud to be able to offer a mentor system for anyone who would like any one-to-one support when developing their photography.

The Club’s main season runs from the first Thursday in October (3rd) until May, and we meet weekly at 7.30pm in the Vestry of the Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme. There is a subscription charge for the main season, which is currently £40 for the year but if you are interested then you can come on a few taster sessions for FREE, so that you can decide if you would like to join.

If you do decide to attend our first meeting (3rd October), then we are asking all members to bring along their camera and have a quick think about who their favourite photographer is. The evening will be an informal evening, so that we can catch up with any members after the summer. This will be a great opportunity to get to know our members and learn some more about our club.

We are also currently coming to the end of our summer season, which is a mixture of outings and workshops, and these are all FREE. Our next planned meeting is Thursday the 26th Sept, and we are hoping to do an astrophotography evening (weather permitting). If you are interested then you are more than welcome to come along to this too.

Details of all our sessions and more information about the club are available on our website at https://morecambecameraclub.co.uk/ or you can find us on Facebook and Twitter.📷
